Edo security guard fakes own kidnap, demands N50m ransom from employer

  Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, have apprehended a 36-year-old man, Akpooh Edet, for allegedly faking his own abduction and demanding a N50 million ransom from his employer.   Edet, who worked as a security guard at Rubber Estate in Ose River, Ovia South West Local Council of Edo State, was among 22 suspects paraded at the Amotekun Corps headquarters in Ondo State.    The suspect was arrested at his hideout in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Council, following a tip-off.   A model has been slammed for dancing gleefully by her elderly boyfriend's hospital bed after being named in his will.  Twenty-two-year-old Bronwin Aurora is dating an 85-year-old man.  She took to TikTok to post a video of her dancing beside his hospital bed with the caption: "Guys, I got on the will, should I pull the plug?"   

Man uses his wife to make a case for why women shouldn't wear nose ring

  He took to X to condemn women who eear nose ring.  He wrote alongside a photo of his wife: "This is my wife.  "Will a nose ring add anything to this beauty?  "Look decent without destroying your body, that's not what men sort after!"    X users pointed out to him that the same way he's condemning other women for wearing nose ring is the same way his wife could be criticises for being heavily made up.  Some men commented, telling him it's OK if he doesn't like nose ring but they like it om their women.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has dismissed claims that Lagos would be the primary beneficiary of Nigeria’s proposed tax reform bills. Speaking on Wednesday during the Africa Investment Forum Market Days 2024 in Morocco, the governor urged Nigerians to take time to understand the reforms fully before forming conclusions.   On December 2, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum asserted that the proposed value-added tax (VAT) sharing model under the tax reforms would disproportionately favor Lagos and Rivers States. Countering this narrative, Sanwo-Olu said the statement was untrue, adding that the reforms require everyone to work harder to realize their benefits.
